Hanyut The Movie

Most of the film scenes are shot in Ladang Selbourne (palm estate), Padang Tengku. This place is located about 30 km from Kuala Lipis town.

This film is based on a novel called Almayer's Folly written by Joseph Conrad. This EPIC film (directed by U-Wei Hj. Shaari) tells the story of Almayer, a Dutch trader struggling to survive in Borneo at the turn of the 19th Century. His dream of finding a mythical gold mountain is challenged by his scheming wife, the colonial authorities, the political machinations of the local chief and Arab traders, and his daughter's love for a freedom-fighting Malay prince. The best of luck to U-Wei and his crews. I believed that this film will be a hit in Malaysia.
