Every climb has a mid way point.
The tiny notch where you rest your walking stick
and search the air. Where strange flowers
give you breath as they breathe.
There is that place you choose
to rest your raw skin. Look beneath and wonder
what remains. What lives on after this.
Every tree has a secret love spot. Every climber
has a weakness. My home is just there, just
before you lose hope. Your hands might mistake
me for the canopy. That I am the lightness
you imagine. I might be that. And you might
survive on air too.
An epiphyte is a plant that grows on another plant, using it for support but NOT as a parasite.
