In 1971 the Keretapi Tanah Melayu stood still at the station of Kuala Lipis for least a week effective 2nd January 1971 due to the flood.There was landslides both north and south of Lipis.
Southbound train from Gemas and Northbound train from Kelantan was stranded at Kuala Lipis Railway station.
Just imagine..two train with almost 900 passengers stranded at the railway station.
A temporary kitchen had to be organised to feed the 480 school children who were among them.
Kuala Lipis town not only flooded with water but flooded with people. Kuala Lipis town was an isolated island during the flood.
